Pizza Hut - 11" for £5

Last night, I went to Pizza Hut with the children. Before I left I read the newsletter stating the above deal and that a voucher wasn't required.
When I arrived there were no posters or fliers advertising the deal, so I asked. I was told by the waitress that they aren't allowed to tell anyone about the deal unless they specifically ask!
Great deal but seems a bit underhand that you have to actually ask about the deal to be eligible for it. Have others experienced this or is it just my local Pizza Hut?
