WHS2011 - Server Offline

Over the past day or two I've had problems with WHS.
I had this configured so that my laptop loaded the launchpad and logged me in automatically. However now I get an error message "The server appears to be offline. Do you want to sign in to offline mode".
However, I can still access the server through the dashboard and the webinterface (only tested from home).
I've tried unistalling and reinstalling .NET with no luck, rebooting the server, and removing and reinstalling the connector.
I'm now way outside my comfort zone!! Any ideas?
The details of my setup - laptop is a Sony with Win7 and Norton 360 - the server is a HP Microserver with WHS and NOD32 - the router is a Netgear DGND3700 with a wireless link to the laptop and wired to the WHS.

Haven't come across this problem (sounds like the launchpad software on the laptop - but just a guess).
I would try a post on a WHS specific site - try http://www.wegotserved.com/ for starters.0 -
Thanks Tocsin,
I had a look, it seems this is not uncommon,
Tried a series of options, but it looks like there was an issue with Winsock LSPs.
To be honest, I've no idea what that means, but some helpful person had posted a step by step guide on what to do to check - and I then needed to unistall some software and the problem cleared.
Thanks again0
