With the Mint credit card they send you the 4 transfer and save cheques, but can you transfer the money into your bank account any other way?
To cut it short, my car is totalled and i 'should' be having it written off and will need to buy another car asap as they'll want the hire car back soon. The idea is to transfer the cash off my credit card /s into my bank account, buy a new car and then pay it off when the cheque comes in..

Let's hope you were relatively unscathed in the car accident. When you say 'when the cheque comes in' are you referring to an insurance cheque for the loss of your car?
What is wrong or difficult with cheques, in the SBT world of things, from mint ? Egg is much more convenient I Know.

The problem with Mint's cheques is i've just got my Barclaycard 12month 0% and BT'ed my Mint and MBNA balance over to that as they only have 1 month remaining at 0%.
So what did i do....... I ripped up the 3 remaining cheques i had from Mint ::) then promptly came up with the idea to replace the car quicker..
If i go for Egg i'd have to hope i got a decent sized limit, plus i'd have to wait for it to arrive. If i phone Mint for more cheques i have to wait for them to arrive,
yep, i did mean the insurance cheque0 -
Don't buy a car in haste. The sales staff can sense your desperation and you will get a poor deal.
I'd lend you my mint cheques if I could find them. Unfortunately they are buried amongst all the other MBNA cheques that were sent every week. There is safety in numbers after all.
The Egg card is good thing at any time due to their enlightened attitude towards bank accounts transfers.
You have nothing to lose by appealing to Mint to help you out. Either they try help you or you say goodbye to their credit services.

Cheers JB.. i know what kind of car i'm after, and might go private sales rather than 'Swiss Toni'. I'm looking for a second hand Impreza, possibly WRX and they literally look after themselves. I'll be hopefully taking somebody who knows about cars to give them the once over.
There's enough scoobies around for me to just walk off and look at another, that and hard cash normally makes people give in0 -
be careful when paying by credit card cheques, i think from memory you arent covered by something if anything goes wrong or similar like using your card? althgough it is still using your account. Im sure someone will clarify this.0

Alex.. i was thinking of paying the cheque into my bank account and paying cash.. just might be quicker than waiting for the cheque from the insurance company.0

I'd double check what interest they will charge you, if you pay the cheque into your account. There are always hidden charges. I'd give them a ring first0
