Mark

Just joined today. Was called yesterday for the umteenth time by a cold caller from a ppi reclaims company. I usually tell them to get lost as I have had many loans and cards over the past ten years, and have never knowingly agreed to ppi (I think). My financial affairs are in turmoil at the moment due to bank pressures on my business, so I have little time to waste. However this guy hit me with a specific amount that I am supposed to be owed by Northern Rock for ppi on a mortgage. I know I did have a couple of mortgages with them a few years back, so he may be right. I declined to pay the caller's upfront fee, and, to his credit, the salesman then advised me to look at this website.
Anybody know, do they have access to details of potentially reclaimable amounts from specific lenders before actually making a claim, or is this a dubious sales pitch??

They have no way of getting any of your loan/cc or mortgage info, this is to get you to pay the upfront fee!.
Contact NR and ask them, it is that easy, and it will not cost you upwards of 25% plus Vat.

    Hi Mark and welcome

    I agree with amersall.

So not sign up to these companies, and try to have a go yourself where if you succeed in reclaiming you will get to keep every penny owed to you.

It is just simply a matter of completing the reclaim questionnaire with whatever reasons you may have for being mis sold, send to the ones responsible for setting and selling you the account.
    Keep copies for future reference.

So basically, as long as you know you have reasons for being mis sold, and your account numbers, you can fire away on the reclaiming.

    Good luck.

Its a scam. There is no list of people owed money.

The information on MPPI is not in the public domain. However, it is possible to find out where your mortgage was from public records and that data can be bought.

They are just fishing. MPPI is a monthly direct debit paid from your current account. Surely you would know if you had it as you would have seen it each month it was paid?
