Access to Work, a conundrum?

Claim the lot, pocket what seems fair to you and do something good for a charity or someone else with the rest.0

Remploy help disabled people find jobs as do some special advisors at Jon centres but you need to request them. Access to work would help with interviews (if you need a communicator) and then support you once you actually have the job.
The government is shutting most of them down as they do not make enough profit!0 -
I'm not sure what to think of that. On one hand I think it's disgusting to herd disabled people to work in factories made just for disabled workers, on the other hand at least they had work. Perhaps with their experience now accessing the local job markets won't be as difficult (as long as the ATW funding is upped as promised).
Will they keep the remploy centres that help people find jobs?0 -
One avenue you could try is the official complaint.
Request a copy (or look online) for their Complaints procedure.
Work out exactly how much they owe you, what they should be paying you and what exactly you want off them.
Write a letter of complaint including the above. Also state that in writing is the only communication that will be accepted.
If they fob you off send them a Subject Access Request (since this is DWP they wave the £10 fee so it's free).
Continue the complaint taking it as far as you can through their complaints procedure. Stick to it like glue and don't accept any deviation from it.
If once you've exhausted that since it's DWP then raise it with these folks http://www.ind-case-exam.org.uk/
Bit of letter tennis a lot of waiting around but for 2 grand + I'd consider it no matter how long it took.
I took me 4 letters 2 to Bulldog then 2 to their regulator over 9 months to get my free ADSL Modem and £67 once. Was it worth it hell yeah

- I know and I'm all for it and have been for more than 30 years ....... if
- 100% of everything saved goes into making the remaining profitable .. .. or
- 100% of everything saved goes directly to creating or supporting self-sustaining employment for the disabled
If its the usual treasury grab .. .. it stinks. Business models do become unprofitable and have to be closed down including Remploy. One of the highest costs to the taxpayer in the Remploy model is the support and transport costs of the employees - it can -per - head often exceed the individual workers earnings - per head - per week.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem.
