Need help, haven't been paid since leaving job

Options
Hi all,

I started a job that lasted three month's on a trial basis and I didn't make it, I have recived all payment's apart from one whitch is for two week's, every time I ring her she put's it off my saying my cheque was lost in the post, this she says has happend twice, I've never had anything lost in the post before!.

I rang her today and she said that her pc had crashed!! so now my payment is going to take even longer, now I left the job in November!!, surely i should of got paid by now?, i've been very calm so far but this is taking the biscuit.

I'm on new deal at the moment and I phoned them they suggested I contacted the citizens advice bureau, and they could then send them a letter.

Any advice would be apreciated.

TIA

This is an unlawful deduction of wages and as such you can take action. You should go to your local CAB - maybe an initial letter would do the trick. Good Luck.

Thank's chugalug, I posted this in another section and someone said the same thing so I will give your advice ago, thank's again :).
  • I had a similar problem about 5 years ago I visited my local CAB and picked up my backdated pay check a few hours later. They were brillaint.
  • Ditto - CAB gave best advice to my son. Its important to make sure you gave in your notice in writing though and that you get your calculations right
Always write and if nothing else write again making a date for payment "time of the essence".
    Did you get a P45?
My son in a similar position eventually received his after 3 months of hassle.

    Hi,

Here's the trouble she hasn't sent me my p45 yet as she claimed it was lost in the post!!!, so she sent off for a new one as she now aprently say's it's on the way hahh yea right and pig's fly!.

The job was a trial basis I never recived a form saying that I worked there either again why?, she also claimed my last paycheck recipt was also losty along with my p45!!.

Now why would she do something like this?, to stop me from getting my money?. I'm only 20 so not to knowlegeable of the working world yet, I'm just glad that I don't work there anymore. All I am owed it two week's money what't the big fuss?, pay me and i'll never bother you again period.

My patince has worn thin now, it's been nearly five month's since leaveing the job and it feel sas if i'm still an employee. :(, my new deal adviser said do the same thing you guy's said.

Thanks for all your reply's. :)

If she did say this, it's rubbish! SHE writes out the P45 ...gives parts 2 & 3 to you and sends part 1 to the Inland Revenue.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

She can avoid any problems in the future by paying an extra 69p and sending the letter to you using Recorded Delivery ;)
