Eon and UDS ...again !

I have posted on here about Eon and UDS a bit recently- here is the background. Due to staff rudeness, incorrect bills and crossed meters over a period of years I decided to leave them. I took a reading myself and provided it to Eon and my new company.

Some weeks after leaving Eon I was sent a demand for £500. Not a final bill - just a demand. I questioned how the figure was arrived at and was just told it was right and to pay up. I asked again and my account was passed to UDS.

UDS were nothing but rude. Trying to force me into paying more than I could afford, threating court action and saying things like ' you better hope we dont take more action in between now and when you pay' and 'borrow the money from somoene else to pay us'. In the end I lodged a complaint with Eon and the Office of Fair Trading. During my complaint to Eon I mentioned I had spoken to the OFT and shortly I received the long ( 8 months ) awaited final bill !! Checked the reading and called my new company to compare and surprise surprise its way out !! How can that even be when I sumitted those figures myself to both companies at the same time. They even both have the same date recorded.

I am so cross with Eon. I have just telephoned and advised that I dispute this bill. They said they will contact my new provider and issue a new bill.

If I have been subjected to all that stress and rudeness from UDS for nothing I will be fuming. I actually left other bills unpaid to try and settle up with UDS because they were so threatening.

So angry.

I am having very simalar problems at the moment, i too have changed suppliers due to many errors from eon. I too submitted readings to new supplier and have finally got a bill from eon with readings nothing like the correct readings.Im told this is due to having been given a new mpan no?
Im in dispute with them at moment but its hard work!

Yes its really hard work dealing with Eon. Some people would have just paid up without question but because I had so many wrong readings I made a point to question them and glad I did. I can understand 1 or 2 mistakes but I would say we had around 6 wrong bills due to a crossed meter and then when that was sorted we had about another 6 where the meter had been read by Eon but the digits transposed. I cant see how they could get it wrong so many times and this time I submitted the reading myself and they still got it wrong. Cynical me is starting to think this might be done on purpose to try and get more money out of customers. If they are not caught so be it and if they are, they just claim it to be an accident.......
Good luck and I am with you on this one. I had started to make repayments but as from now I have no intention of doing so until I get a correct bill!

I’m sorry to jump in so late in the day here and to hear that you’re both having similar problems with your transfer of supply from us.

Particularly as its poor service in the past that‘s prompted you to leave.

I’m more than happy to help you with this. If you’d like to email your details to me, the address is on my profile page.

We need to ensure that your queries are being dealt with correctly as customer complaints. This stops any debt collection for an incorrect balance, whilst it’s being sorted out and will certainly keep UDS off your back cottonhead.

I should also point out though that when you change supplier the meter readings used in your final bill are sent from your new supplier. Whilst it’s unlikely that we’re responsible for them being wrong, that doesn’t mean to say we can’t put things right :D

I see that you both commented on scotslad’s post yesterday, you’ll be pleased to know that his query has now been fully resolved.

Worth giving us one last chance? :)

Im pleased to say that Amanda has managed to get to the bottom of a very complicated complaint. If any one has any problem with Eon I would advise them to give the Eon reps a try.

Amanda at least bothered to sort out the problem which is more than I can say for other Eon staff.

    Thanks Amanda.
