Credit Cards Limits

Hi there,

I hope someone can help me?

I just recieved a call from one of these solicitors (no fee things) saying that theres a new law has came in where we can claim back money if your credit card limit was raised without your consent.
Does anyone knoe about this & where i can find out more about it or is it a con?

Ask the so-called "solicitor" to quote the name of the new law and look for it here: https://www.legistation.gov.uk

Real solicitors will not cold-call

O(8.3) you do not make unsolicited approaches in person or by telephone to members of the public in order to publicise your firm or in-house practice or another business;

If you want to pay £££s only to see it disappear when the firm is eventually shut down, go ahead. but don't say you weren't warned.

It will be a con.
They will want money from you - you won't see it again.
Please feel free to carry on if you want to be fleeced - plenty on here will be able to help you in the future when you come back and say you have been conned.

You just have to think about it logically. Unless there was proof that you were put into any sort of financial hardship from the increase (very unlikely unless you have some sort of handicap), than why woudn't you just decrease the limit.
