Do I claim from garage or Black Horse?

Hi, I believe that I was missold PPI. I have a few questions which I hope somone can help with. Unfortunately I do not have any of the paperwork except for bank statements which show the payments and dates.

The car loan and insurance were sold to me by a salesman in the garage but the loan and insurance were with Black Horse.

I rang Black Horse who checked and said they didn't have any record of it but they were very nice and said that if I wrote in with all the details (they said I didn't need to send any payment for this) they would check their archives. The loan was a rollover covering 2 cars - I think the original loan started in around 1999 but my final payment of the 'second' loan was in 2007. So I'm hoping this means it is still in scope time wise - am I correct in thinking that?

Should I also write into the garage asking if they have copies of the paperwork?

And finally, if I do manage to get copies of the paperwork do I put my claim into the garage or Black Horse?

Many thanks

The complaint would need to go to the garage.

However, a 1999 sale is unlikely to fall under FOS jurisdiction.

Since my original post I searched through photos and now know that the first loan would have began in 2001 and the 'second' one would have started in 2003. Do these dates make my chances any better? Especially, as the loan ended in 2007 - does the end date not count?

Also can you please confirm, does this rollover type of loan class as one or 2 loans - I do remember a new set of paperwork but as the first loan wasn't completed it was rolled over into the second loan.

And finally, would I be as well to write to the garage and Black Horse in the first instance to see if either will provide a copy of the agreement? Although I understand that my claim would be against the garage.

    Many thanks
