Going over the credit limit

I've just gone over the credit limit on one of the credit cards-I've got two Halifax cards and I used the wrong one!

I'm just wondering whether I'd still get charged for this even though I've just paid some cash off the credit card-I quickly ran to the bank when I realised!

Anyone else done this?

You may get away with it. Depends whether they do a real-time calculation or wait until the end of the day to calculate your balance.

Why did you opt to pay via a branch?

In the branch - Call into any Halifax branch– simply hand in the giro credit slip with cash or a cheque – please allow 4 working days before your payment to reach us by date.

I would of made the payment online

If you have a Halifax Current Account you can make a payment via https://www.halifax.co.uk/online and your payment will normally be credited to your account within 2 hours.

Halifax credit card payments made in branch will now show up by tomorrow (dated today)as long as its paid before 4pm.
