The CC might not have given the OP notice of the reduction, but it appears they have left ample time for the OP to get her balance in line with the new limit; which apparently hasn't happen yet.
OP, work out a time table, how long it will take you to get the balance down and into line with the current limit. Submit that to BC and stick to it.0 -

I disagree with this. People often plan finances around the minimums due. CCs aren't repayable on demand (or in a short time).
Somehow I really doubt it was Barclaycard's intention to reduce the limit to below the current balance. Sounds more like an IT mess up or letters and transactions crossing in the post.
It is true that CCs can vary limits and/or minimums. But I don't think it is reasonable to reduce the limit to below the current balance and then expect the cardholder to up their repayments to avoid overlimit charges.0
