Help wit Height of an Extension

Can anyone tell me the maximum height for a rear ground floor extension of a terraced house under current planning? Is it 4m, 3.5m, 3.2m or some other height?

Is there a minimum? Are there any exception to the general rule?

thank you for reading.

I would say 4m for a pitched roof but there are sorts limiting factors.

Have a look at the Planning Portal, that will give you all the info you need.

yes I thought it was 4m too. I had a meeting with pre application with the planners today and she said they prefer 3.2m. My proposal was 3.5m for a flat roof

There is a maximum of a 3m eaves height within 2m of a boundary - a terrace house may be affected by this

without planning permission you can go 3m to the eaves and 4 m to the top of the roof on a terraced house, you can out 3m and as wide as you fancy , this was correct 6 months ago for the watford area when we had ours built

Yes for a flat roof that's right.

Planning Portal will give you chapter and verse on this stuff, there are so many variations.

If you need PP ie going beyond permitted development then there is no maximum, it's about what the planners like in your area. What does the 30cms give you, I expect they would prefer a pitched roof?
