Hi
I have been reading all the threads and just find it amazing what some of you have done and reclaimed.
This has encouraged me to look through our financial folder and I have found a Liffe Assurance Policy commencing in 2002. This policy was taken out when as green as grass we purchased our first home. We were told at the time we needed the policy as we had taken out a mortgage. That bit is fine.
We were told we needed them to cover the mortgage amount of £32,000 if one of us died the mortgage would be paid off. However, the guy sold us two seperate policies. One in my name and one in hubbys name. Both policies were for £16,000 each.
This meant if one of us would have died the mortgage would not of been paid off only £16,000 off it. But if we would have taken out a joint policy the full amount would have been paid off.
So to the advice side of things. Could I claim back the amount we have paid in as the policy was miss-sold to us.
I know somebody out there will know the answer as you all seem to be so clued up on this type of thing.
Thank you so much in advance for any help.
