just received a Paypal payment from Ireland unconfirmed

i was wondering what i should do as next steps?
I've e-mailed the buyer saying that I ask for confirmed address's only if paying by Paypal and that without a confirmed address I cannot send and will have to refund.
I also said i'd take a cheque.

Is this the right thing to do?

Cheers
