Halifax taking FOREVER to process application?!

Morning all

Has anyone come across issues with the Halifax CC app process? Any tips on who to speak to, best number etc?

I am pulling my hair out. The online app took 2 mins and the docs came in the post within a few days, but now I've got to the 'ID stage' and its like I've hit a brick wall.

There was no way I was sending original docs [i.e passport, driving license] in the post, so I took them into my local branch with my application info.

3 weeks further on & I had heard nothing. Phoned up on 0800 028 3258, was told that the branch hadn't 'stamped' the copies of my ID and they'd just sent them through as is, so the Applications Team hadn't done anything with it and I'd need to go back into branch with my ID and ask them to do it again. CHORE! Why didn't they call me ?!

So a week ago I went back in, explained all, got it stamped and sent for the 2nd time. Phoned this morning to ask if all was OK because I've still heard nothing, and the lady I spoke to told me she's got no way of checking ?! Could be anything from 5 days onwards?!

ARGH! Something tells me this bank are a bunch of wallies and I'd be better off cancelling and looking elsewhere!

  • I took my ID into the branch and I had the card within about 1 week. They will know when the account is opened if you call to check on a recent application.

I didnt have to take id, myn still took 2 weeks
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
