Gas cost query
Hi,
I have recently got my gas and electricity bill for the months of Dec, Jan and Feb, I am being charged £317.99. I pay a monthly direct debit of £60 and get a discount of approx £33. I had a debit of £89 in Nov.
Does this cost of £317.99 sound about right for gas and electricity for the months of Dec, Jan and Feb?
Thank you

That really depends upon how much consumption you had and how much you pay for each energy unit + standing charges........
....but I'd be quite please if that was all I was paying for the three winter months. Consider the average bill is over £1200 for a year, just a straight quarter (ignoring heavier winter use) of that is £300.
You will need to be much more specific to get a more informative answer from anybody0 -
Specifically, how many kWh's billed on each fuel, and which tariff you are on.
That will tell you if the calculation is correct.
To know if it is 'reasonable', we'd have to know the size of the property, the standard of insulation, how high you set the 'stat, what heating and hot water system you have, how many hours a day it is on...
But as above, and assuming actual consumption, not estimated, it's very low for a winter quarter.
If you think it's too much, hit the comp sites with your annual kWh figures. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
