Feedback for cancelled sale?

I ordered an item which turned out not to be in stock in my size. The seller emailed me to apologise and let me know, offered me an alternative or a refund.

I opted for the refund as he didn't have any of the alternatives I looked at in stock either, and the refund all went through fine.

However, despite the sale being cancelled and refunded, it is still showing in my 'awaiting feedback' tab. I obviously can't leave feedback with regards to how accurate the item was etc as I never received it. Will this just eventually disappear? Will I end up with a black mark against my name for not leaving feedback?

Although, if you go to the leave feedback page, there is the option to leave feedback later (may stop eBay sending you the standard reminder after 30 days).

I would have left him positive feedback anyway for his communication and his handling of the refund etc - he even offered me a discount on future purhcases due to the mix up, but like I say I can't very well leave stars regarding dispatch time, accuracy of item description etc and I am assuming that there is no way to bypass this.

You can leave feedback without marking the stars (or by leaving a category blank). Just don't click on that set of stars.
