Pentax Optio M40 Camera - Repair or replace?

Use this for taking snaps rather than pictures if that makes sense.

Last couple of days when I turn it on makes a horrible noise, trys to focus/zoom before giving up and turning off.

Just wondering if worth repairing? Or do I need to think about a replacement?

At that price point it is probably not worth the cost of repair (unless you can get someone to look at it and give you an estimate free of charge) Had a similar issue a couple of years back, by the time I added up the cost of postage, cost of repairers to look, parts if they could get them, labour, the extra £30 for a new better camera seemed the better option.
