How can I turn a laptop into a Mobile Phone?

Hi guys,
This must seem like a very strange question to ask 'cos the answer is fairly obvious. Just run Skype on it. Ahhhh, not quite that easy .
For reasons that I can't go into here I don't want to run Skype or any similar programme on this laptop.
What I am trying to find is some kind of USB dongle that will allow me to use a SIM card from my usual supplier, O2, to send and receive calls, hopefully with some kind of software involved that supplies a Dial pad and ringtone.
I have been looking at the Huawei K3520 but I can't find any info.
Can anybody shed any light?
Cheers ,

its not possible to do that you can send texts from a laptop using a dongle but you cant make calls unless you use skypeReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

First you need to make sure your SIM card is voice enabled
Then check the firmware and software of your dongle...
if you do a bit of Google searching, you should find a usable firmware to flash onto your dongle to enable voice calls via the software.
But people have been reporting that they have a problem getting voice to work (outside calls getting engaged tone and sending calls fail)
Unless you have a technical issue with skype, i'd just go with that, with a "Skype In" subscription so landlines can call you...Laters
