My canon printer has gone to printer heaven and i am after a new

It is only used to print for home use just order confirmations, maps, emails etc etc.
Not interested in printing quality photos as i use costco at 7p a print.

I would get another Canon-if you can find one,. The AIO Pixma models all seem to be out of stock at present and new supplies are not due for a month or so-does anyone know what the supply issue is with these? I've been trying to find a Pixma MG6250 for weeks now.
I would not recommend an HP. I bought a Photosmart 7510 as a substitute for the non-available Canon. The first suffered a printhead failure on day one and refused to power up, it's replacement suffered a seized carriage during set up and is also being returned. I've refused a further replacement as I now have no confidence in this model. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Amazon have the 6250 at the moment, though at £180 probably more than you have seen them for

Thanks, but that's about £50 more than I have seen them for elsewhere. Many of the online retailers do claim to have them in stock, but in reality do not.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I bought an HP Envy 100 last year. It wasn't cheap but I got a fair price by looking on line. I'm a novice and HP's technical support helped me to set it up wirelessly. It's been great - and I really am poor - technically. I'm delighted with it and I recommend it.
I hope you get something you're really pleased with.

A Canon Pixma MG6250 as mentioned or HP Photosmart 5510 for bargain-basement value0

1 recommendation. before buying the HP printer, look at the price of the cartridges that it uses first. This is the most expensive part of a printer, and ask yourself a few questions.
1. what am i going to print.
2. how much is it going to cost to print
3. can i use compatibles / refills
4. do i do a lot of printing.
and after doing that decide to stick with a canon, or switch to a epson. using ebay for ink prices, find a printer you like, search for the cartridges using model of printer + ink, to get an idea.
small note: With epson printer make sure the ink is compatible it comes with the chip7 or version 7 chip.0 -
Just bought the hp 3050a from tesco, £35, pleased with it. The ink is resonable, its wifi, has its own email address, so friends abroad etc can email straight to printer, its like recieving a letter! And is compatible with an ipad with airprint. Ive always had hp, my last one was 10 years old and never had a problem with it, just the inks were getting expensive, £60 tp replace them all!0
