Well....words fail me....watching the opening ceremony, and am cringing....the commentary is terrible as most of the time I have no idea what on earth is going on....and the dancing and prancing around by those blokes in top hats and then the nurses....and what on earth was all that about when that woman was singing Abide With Me.....totally lost on me....only bit I loved was seeing David Beckham and his lovely smile( without Victoria, thank goodness)...... Apparantly it's because I 'm old....my son phoned and asked me if I thought it was good.....he thinks it has been fantastic....he said I would have enjoyed it if I was younger.....

I thought a lot of it was great. The part I HATED most was David Beckham:cool: I thought his smile was smug not lovely. I just hope he is not the one who is lighting the flame:eek::eek:
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

    EVEning everyone,

I stilll have not caught up so please forgive me :o

DD3's mouth is horribly infected - well the wound is - she is very sore (as is her nose now too) so Dr has extended antibiotics, have to stick with paracetamol & ibuprofen (would not give me anything stronger or increase in dosage)

Have been trying all sorts of foods, smoothies etc she is still hungry bless her.

I still feel sick to the pit of my stomach when I look at her and think what she has to go through (I pray every night that she will not, the worst that will happen will be a brace hey they are trendy now  ) I cannot sleep and have a permanent headache :(

I can't help but think that my post's are maybe coming across a bit "dramatic" if they are then apologies but 14 months ago today I lost my beautiful & beloved DD1 to a very brief illness, since then I panic, worry every time my children are away from me - yes even at school - because I just know something else will happen and low and behold look what has happened. I don't think my heart can take much more to be honest.

Anyway, I did not come on here to post any of the ^^^^^ it has just found it's way out I guess.........
Dear farmville. So sorry for your loss. x

Good morning all, oh my... What a load of crap last night ceremony! what a waste of tax payer £££ the 1st half was really crap!! and boring and weird an embarrassing for "Great Britain":(:(:(

The previous Beijing ceremony was way way much better & interesting to watch.

The 2nd part are so much better than the 1st part where all the athletics matching out.

It was so boring due to all those meaningless dancing & prancing that I couldn't keep my eyes open by the time it comes to "S" country I had to go to bed:D so missed Chris Hoy & the gang:(

As for Beckham he was all smug because they did not invited him to carry the torch from the beginning and now he is trying to say " Look who has the last laugh eh! I am stirring the speed boat straight to the stadium!":rotfl:

The best part I like was when "Mr Bond" went to collect & the Queen & she jumped out of the helicopter and "Mr Bean" playing keyboard:rotfl::rotfl: the rest nothing to shout about except BORING!!!
RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)

I'm awake Doc, have been up since 6am....stayed with it until the end and totally agree with all you said , some bitsof the first part were excellent( the forging of the Olympic rings was amazing) but a lot was really , really weird., and I just did not get it at all( what was that dancing about when that woman sang Abide with Me?)..the lighting was spectacular and loved it when the athletes arrived wasn't the music great then? I thought the cauldron lighting was fantastic....then spoiled right at the end whenPaul McCartney 'sang'(?).......... saw the Beatles live in 1963 when they could sing, someone should tell Paul McCartney that he can't sing now and should stop trying.....and what a pity the Queen never smiled.

looking forward to watching the cycling event this morning and swimming later, and trying to fit the Hungarian Grand Prix Qualifying into my viewing schedule....
