    Mortgage-free Glee!
    lovely:D
i'm having trouble with something picking mind and leaving in little piles( well not so little at the moment)
that & woodlouse, slug & snails
its a battle to get any myself:(
The poor woodlouse gets a bad name - they don't actually eat the strawbs the slugs and birds do but the wee chap quite often goes in the hole left behind. I've now netted mine up and put organic slug pellets down, see if that keeps the beggars off :rotfl:
morning all ,my dad/i use to have a small allotment and grew loads of strawberries so many that my now grown children esp son (24) wont eat them because he claims he was force fed them as a child & hes been put off for life lol.i moved house 3 years ago so had to give up the allotment & really miss being able to just go & pick a fresh bowl full for tea.
It's marvellous - shame you had to give it up. FD loves picking them but DD2 says she wants to come and pick some too to make a smoothie :)
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

    Morning everyone:)

Went to see the olympic torch this morning:j all the men in my household think I'm mad they keep saying it's only a torch I just say it's history first time ever in our lifetime and probably never happen again. So is this a difference of the sexes:think:

Headache not so bad this morning so hopefully worse over now:T

Aesop hope you feeling well now:A

Bullshot sorry the image of you under the shoeboxes on the floor had me chuckling but don't suppose it was so funny at the time. Hope you OK now no lingering aches and pains.:A

jax the Park Inn York is definately a good location that's why I looked at prices when saw the offer. What I have learnt since going up there a lot recently is the amount of Americans that visit the area probably why accomadaion more expensive seems like the 3 places they like to visit is London York and Edinburgh.

Take a look at the cookery book at the top ( it's brown and white)I have this book and use it quite a lot....it is from 1930.
Inside the back cover it says this.......
.'Should this booklet become soiled or damaged, the Manufacturers will send you a fresh copy, free and post free, if you write to either of the addresses given on the opposite page. They will be pleased to send a copy to any of your friends who would like one.

Well they aren't free now (£2.50 plus p&p) as the addresses no longer exists, I telephoned Premier Foods who now own Be-ro and asked if they would keep their promise....and sure enough the postie has just delivered the latest edition FOC....my old one has 48 pages and this new one has 86 and is in a lovely wipe clean format......my old one has been put away...I have got lots of cookery books that I've acquired over the years but this old one has been the most useful.

Might ask my mum about this book I remember my mum and Nan having the BE-RO cook books if it says the same might let her know then I can nick her copy:D;):rotfl:

Morning all....after 2 weeks of Wimbledon it's lots and lots of excercise for me....not raining at the moment , so might risk a bike ride, or a quick brisk walk ...then I'll have to get the Wii switched back on ( it's been off since before I went to Paris)....lack of use = 2 lbs weight gain !!!

    Morning Everyone:)

I'm sure you're all aware but Robinsons have recalled their new cap Fruit Shoots. If you return a half used pack ;), you get £2.99 back no receipt needed. If you're like me you never pay more than £1.80 - £2 per pack. HTH :)

MT - I picked a load of strawberries yesterday on my allotment - 5 full punnets (weighed 2.3Kgs or 5lbs in old money ;)). I also got a few rasps - lovely!

Don't like fresh strawberries, but will eat the raspberries for you:rotfl:

Do you have any squirrls where you are hun.

Yesterday we watched a squirrel eating strawberries in the neighbours garden, he had a little pile of them and was scoffing away.
