Have you thought of the FREE trip to Statten Island....as long as you stay on the boat for the return trip....

The Staten Island Ferry is run by the City of New York for one pragmatic reason: To transport Staten Islanders to and from Manhattan. Yet, the 5 mile, 25 minute ride also provides a majestic view of New York Harbor and a no-hassle, even romantic, boat ride, for free! One guide book calls it "One of the world's greatest (and shortest) water voyages." From the deck of the ferry you will have a perfect view of The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You'll see the skyscrapers and bridges of Lower Manhattan receding as you pull away and coming into focus again as you return. A typical weekday schedule involves the use of five boats to transport approximately 60,000 passengers daily (109 daily trips)

NBC Studio visit is not free , but well worth the money...

Do the Empire State early morning to avoid the queues and St Patrick's Cathedral is def worth a visit too....other than that....shop til you drop!!

Great tips Bully cheers. We are definitely going on ferry, will check out the NBC Tour. Dollar has dropped a few cents over last couple of days, need to get a few. I've got the Halifax Clarity Card for shopping, etc (no loading/fees).

M's have joined the petrol war:
12p off every litre of fuel this week with our Great Fuel Britannia promotion!
You need to spend £60 or more in store in one transaction between Monday 21st May – Sunday 27th May. Voucher valid uintil 3rd June.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

There are lots of ferry trips to Ellis Island but you have to pay for those, the Statten Island is one that you pay for when you get off at Statten Island, so you just stay on it for the return , hence it is free......New York was the last leg of our Round the World trip that we took when we retired.....we'd spent a fortune as we'd been away for 5 1/2 weeks by then, so something for free in NY was a real bonus for us ( plus the free upgrade we got at JFK for our flight home and the invite into the first class lounge for lunch).....we 'd had 14 flights on our trip and were upgraded to Business Class on every single flight except the first one which was Heathrow to Singapore....
