Afternoon everyone. Just to let you know I have just sent for my last Kermie. Was so relieved, thought I'd never get there. Does anyone Know how long they usually take to come.

It was really heavy where i live and to boot the electric got switched off. They cant find the fault so think its going to be on and off for the next few.Glad we were headed off to see my mum for a few anyway(that is if wind and snow dont prevent it!!)

Night all hope tomorrow brings a better day

FT, are you with Powergen? If you are, you get compensation, I can't remember how much but I think its £10 a day until they resolved it. I work for powergen "indirectly" as they don't tell you this thing openly. You have to ask for it.

Are you serious Blue?...£50 in Boots...fab...make-up, toiletries, medicines, cameras, homeware, sunglasses, glasses, toys, perfume, electrical appliances.....my postie hasn't been yet( think he might be sheltering from this downpour we're having!!) the weather has def put me off my planned shopping trip....but I'm looking forward to wandering around Boots later this week, weather permitting and treating myself.

My sis got it just about right Bully:cool: I have a decent camera, electric toothbrush, sunglasses and glasses/mugs/plates etc. I don't wear makeup up and the only medicines I buy from Boots are kool n soothes/night nurse and I have plenty of them. I don't bother with posh perfume, just decent cheap stuff when I remember to put it on:o:o
It's a shame they don't sell jewellery or something like that as I would love to buy something decent rather than just fritter it away on little purchases through the year.
I'm just waiting for a friend to see if they can fix my iron and then if not I'm going to buy a steam generator one from Argos with my love2shop vouchers.
You can use your M&S gift card online if you see anything, on the payment page there is a box for your gift card no. I just bought a £4 non stick pancake pan. Thought worth £4 to see if the pancake mixes work any better in a proper pan:cool:
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

What problem do you have with the pancake mixes? I use them now and again coz the little ones love them and they always come out just like normal pancakes . Anything I could help with ?

I put too much mix in and it didn't cook or too little in and there was hardly owt. How do you put just the right amount in the pan and how much is the right amount? I got stacks of the bottles, kept buying it when it was cheap/free.

    Did you buy an actifry?

You need to get in touch with your local housing aid or shelter http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/how_we_can_help/housing_aid_centres They will help you with all your problems including the boiler and damp

    Blue
I make these pancakes and its easy.

1 - you need a small non stick frying pan, like an omelette pan.
2 - brush oil all over the frying pan.
3 - mix the pancake mix as per the instructions on the bottle.
4 - put the frying pan on your cooker at the highest heat.
5 - when the frying pan is very hot, and I mean hot, pour enough mix in to cover the bottom of the frying pan, swirl the mix to the edges. If not sure on quantity one Aunt Bessies mix will make around 6-7 good pancakes.
6 - after a minute on one side test if its ready to turn by using a wooden spatula to push the pancake slightly. You need to be able to move the pancake by shaking it, if its ready the pancake will slide around freely in the bottom of the frying pan.
7 - either toss or turn using the spatula and cook the other side until it too will slide freely in the frying pan.
8 - check the pancake is the right colour as occasionally you might need to turn it again till both sides are the nice brownish colour we expect of a pancake.
9 - turn onto a plate and keep warm till all are cooked.
    10 - EAT and enjoy

    Hope this helps
I do pancakes this way at least once a week and they are fine
