Farmville have you taken pics of the bollards? It may be handy to take some and if you have you could upload them. Maybe your local rag will be interested in the story and that may get the school to get rid of them
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

    Hi Q,
Okay you go through school gates and to your right there are approx 20 wooden bollards about the height of a sofa arm. They are square so the top has been sawed and the corners have not been covered. They are spaced approx 3-4 footsteps apart and are joined by a very long green tube that turns. There is no use for them at all i.e bicycle rack etc.

It happened at lunch time DD was running around playing and she tripped and fell her mouth took the full force of the fall on the side of the bollard at the top. The whole thing was witnessed by a lunch time supervisor (who was not allowed to fill in the accident book - she was the only witness). School never rang an ambulance even though the supervisor said she needed one.

I don't know if it could happen elsewhere Quoia, when she is out with me or dad she is told not to run off etc I know it was an accident but yes it has left me very anxious she has not played outside over the summer as she normally would :( though we were told by specialist that it only takes one knock and she will be in theatre again.

I just want it sorted out to prevent it happening to another child (mine or someone else's).

Thanks for that. I think I know the sort of thing you are describing. You see them in all sorts of places. In car parks and some playing fields, perhaps around flower beds or demarcating the boundary between a tarmac and grassed area

Is the latter the point of them at the school ? Grass one side and tarmac the other ?

I have a similar tale to tell.
When I was at nursery school, I'd be 3 or 4 at the time (this is one of my earliest memories) I was pushed off the side over the safety rail at the top of the slide by another kid
There were a few acres of grass and they had a slide, swings, a climbing frame and suchlike, and whilst I don't know about the others, the slide was on a concrete base.
I ended up landing on my chin and I "bit" clean through the front of my mouth, about half an inch below my lower lip, with my lower teeth.
I don't remember the actual event but I remember afterwards
I was not able to eat properly for quite a time, drinking through a straw with great difficulty, menu was mashed potato, soup, ice-cream etc.
I was rather a mess what with the stitches etc. and the cuts & grazes that ultimately scabbed over

Fortunately nothing longlasting, just a smallish scar that most people don't even notice.
I'm not sure but I don't think I ever went back and I suppose quite soon it was time for Junior school.
That was about 50 years ago and as far as I aware nothing was ever done or said about it - I suppose another age when things weren't

Beth tells me lots have been planned whilst I have been away, her fiance was home for the last time and they agreed on names in case he does not make it home for the birth. So we have Luca Ellis for a boy and Bella Chloe for a girl. Beth will find out in two weeks what we are expecting. They have also set their wedding date for 22 June 2013 so I have lots to think about.

Which brings me nicely to my closing comment especially for Part Mouse. Me (and my family) wish you and your husband-to-be a beautiful day and a contented, happy, exciting life together. xmagsx[/QUOTE]

Another virtual wedding to look forward to :j:j:j Have you any jobs to do or have you just got your dress to find?
I love the names, quite unusual. The boy's one makes me think of the guy who used to be on ER, the dishy Dr Luca who married Abbey:D

No Blue no pics just in my head. I really do not want to go down that route at all, it's not me and also after DD1 died the school (before the merge) were wonderful so I couldn't do that.

Quoia your comments about your diet etc is how my little girl is now - still soft diet and drinking through a straw bless her. Yes to the left of the bollards is tarmac (the path in towards the classes) and to the right is a grass embankment.

Your poor mouth too sounds very painful :( did you have any bother with your teeth etc since the accident?

See, I could be wrong but I **think** you are trying to get me to see that it was an accident that could have happened anywhere and just put it down to that. Pre May 2011 I would have done just that. Now, I feel that I am on a thin line that is splitting common sense and over anxiousness and it is hard to figure out which one.

(ps if I am wrong then sorry for being presumptuous and if I am right thank you :A )

I only got the ketchup cos my local asda had no SP conditioner or gel:( My OH is delighted with the ketchup though, cos he loves it and has been using the small sachets that weatherspoons kindly gave us. Now he can use as much as he wants:D I am busy in the morning but hoping the glitch will be working on the shampoo's in the afternoon.

How many jam's did you get? I love Hartley's jam, the Strawberry with bits is my favourite and the only one I scoff

FV if your around at lunchtime ish tomorrow and reading the elite could you do me a massive favour and post on here if the ketchup and shampoo is still working around then please. I can access the internet on my phone and have this thread bookmarked so can look on here easily but it would take me ages to go through the elite as a one off to check. No probs if your busy/not around, I will just take the gamble on one.:D

I forgot to ask Blue & Quoia, I have not entered a DM rewards code in week's!!! Does it matter when I start again or not. I don't know if you can just start after a period of not doing it. I completed a full set last time I did it.

The strawberry and apricot said 50p on the self but they went through the till at full price but the sa knew about the cheap price and altered it to 50p, which is why i didn't bother checking the prices today when I saw the label was now full price. I only saw the jams cos I was looking for the mincemeat, but none of my stores seem to stock it, there was no missing space even in the big ones:(
