Are we really supposed to believe that you had over £25,000 sitting in a bank account and that your girlfriend somehow had all your debit card details, including verified by visa password, so that when you were out at work she managed to spend £25,000 just like that in 6 days on a gambling website?
You say she did it because you had suffered a heavy loss and she wanted to win the lost money back for you. A heavy loss with £25,000 sitting in the bank?
I suggest you take proper legal advice before doing anything further against your girlfriend.
One thing i will point out of that, verified by visa is useless, if his gf knows his D.o.B and had the card to hand she could have changed his password. god knows i do it every time i order online for the fact i forget it0 -
Most gambling site do not use the 'verified by visa' security. I know this as I use a few!0

Good read this....
This is why when im in a relationship the girlfriend doesn't need to know your bank details and I WOULD NEVER get a joint account
seems pointless and silly
After reading all of these replies it seems you got 'careless' why did your girlfriend have your details anyway? (simply because she was your girlfriend ya?) Christ... when will people learn lol
(and im also in a relationship of 4 years and she doesn't know anything about my details lol) maybe im paranoid or just very careful ? lol• HSBC (Main A/C)

Lol
See what i did there! :P
i read what Lith wrote and i have to say, im exactly the same, NEVER will i have a joint account and neither will my partner ever know my bank details.0 -
Even if you (or FOS) did convince the bank they should refund you, the bank would then look to recover its loss from your girlfriend. Aside from any criminal action, they would, I assume, be looking to recover their £25k + interest + legal costs through the civil courts.
Ultimately she stole the money, not the bank. So she is the one who should repay it.0 -
