    A) Bikes - Ebay. Get flatpack bikes. £100 or less. Theyre great bikes. You have to assemble though.

    B) As mentioned in other posts, carry a backpack with uniform and dress in toilets at work.
    C) Ask WORK if they can pay for your expenses and take it off your wage. Most will do this for you. BUY a season ticket or a young persons railcard - whatever applies to you.

    D) As mentioned, talk to your advisor about this situation and see what they suggest
    E) Are you in the crapper with the bank? Could you take an overdraft out for a month?
    F) Im sure you will have a place to put your bike. You can consider that later. Although i wouldnt suggest the bike route to be honest.

    Z)

You all need to work on jogging a mile in 6 mins!!!!!!!!

    6mins X 5 miles = 30mins. As Gordon Ramsey would say - DONE!

If its taking you two hours to walk 5 miles you seriously need to work on your fitness!
(Unless youre an ickie likkle wee person in which case hmmmmm fine)

I'm too tired to explain but this is what will happen if you put this 6 minute mile run into practice in a busy city. You die. Either at a crossing, when you trip yourself climbing down stairs, or when you come across a roundabout.

Dont see the word "city" anywhere in that post you quote. :D

You can die eating fruit five times a day and looking after yourself to the best of anyones ability. Death is natural.

Walking 20 miles per day if you are not used to it will be very difficult. You need some decent trainers and you need to build up over a few weeks or you will get blisters and pull muscles. Running 1 mile every 6 mins is for the very fit. Again you would need to build up over a few weeks.
Cycling is a better option but you also need lights, a helmet and some high vis stuff or you won't last long on the roads. This makes it a more expensive option than suggested. Again, if you are not used to cycling 20 miles a day, you need to build up slowly or you will be injured.
Also, building a bike it is not that easy. Might be better to see what is on Gumtree or on your local ads.
You also need some good quality wet weather gear. You can't ride a bike in heavy rain wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.

Speak to your new employers about the chef whites and explain the problem! They've employed you, so they must like you in some way? And they will want you to start work, so maybe they can lend you some whites or another chef will have a spare set?
I got my whites from Ebay, paid about £6 per jacket second hand compared to £30 in the shops. Couple of stains, but I can assure you they got FAR dirtier once I had been wearing them for a shift :D

How about putting a wanted advert on Freecycle for a bike? Borrow one from a friend? Look in newsagents/post office windows for second hand bikes

Thanks for all the in put everyone means alot, I have my two hour taste today so I'll see how it goes and I'll ask if theres anyhelp out there. If all goes well I'll talk to the job center they have to help I mean if they want me to work there seeing as they sent me the job! xD

The only troubles I see with bike is I already planed to use a bike to get to train station and from other train station to work witch will already take me an hour just on the bike, I cant ride stright to work because theres a motorway inbetween myself and my job.
