ING ok or not?

  • To all those who have re mortgaged with ING how long has the process taken from application to release of funds ?
  • It was all done and completed in under 4 weeks for me back in November / December.

The 4.95 % 2-year-fix came with a £ 499 application fee. If you do your maths, you are no worse off at 5.14 % over two years if your mortgage is roughly under £ 130k - as long as the rate does not change of course.
  • Some have mentioned ING have a fixed rate deal but I just went to their website and there was no mention of any fixed rate deals, only variable - am I missing something?
  • they withdrew the fixed rate a couple of weeks ago... just a few days before I went ahead and applied  I found out yesterday that I have been declined!!? they won't tell me why but I know my credit report is really good with no missed payments etc. Has anyone any ideas?
It's not what you know, but who you know.

As mentioned previously, the fixed rate at 4.95% is no longer available - just the flexible deal, currently 5.14%. I'm so tempted but when will they raise the rate and by how much???!!

Did you apply on line or phone? If you had done the application “On line” you would have had an immediate answer (As I have, I am in the process of completing).

The online application has the option of "Agreement in principle" which also has the credit check option. You can select it from the menu and it took about 30 seconds for them to do my "credit status check". This "Agreement in principle" took about 5 minutes to complete and it was confirmed it would last 3 months.

Obviously it would then only come down to your proof of Identity and Salary which obviously needs to be confirmed. I don’t know if they give an agreement in principle on the phone but their online systems have been marvellous and extremely easy to use!!

DoshSaver, how long did the whole process take from start to finish? My current mortage deal finishes at the end of March (I didn't start the remortaging process sooner as I was waiting to hear from them). Do you think IngDirect can do it in just over 4 weeks??? I too certainly think their online system is great but I cannot get through on the phone - 20 mins wait time is quoted...

I've recently remortaged with ING - completed on the 12th Feb on their fixed rate. I completed the forms on line and paid the fee on 19th January. Sent in my proof of income the next day. Got a call on 24th January requesting current mortgage provider details. Got a call on the 1st Feb to ask if I would be happy to complete on the 12th Feb. Just over 3 weeks!!

The entire process was hassle free. I am very impressed with how efficient the ING process has been.

I applied at the end of October and am still waiting. I have now spent nearly two months on current lender's SVR as a result of their delays :mad::mad:. They said yesterday that it should be completed in a week.

i dont understand how they can be selling a morgage of 5.14 with no tie in or arrangement fees, surely they are losing money (relatively) since its 0.11% below boe base rate.
