Can a Car Insurance firm offer nothing for a write off?

It really would depend on the payout offered / vehicle value and the amount of damaged caused.
This car was bought for £300 2 years ago, so that's all I can go on.
However, if the vehicle is still drivable, vehicle recyclers will pay about £200 around here, so I can't see an insurance company willing to let it go for £30 or less.
you forgot to add in costs of removal etc
this is why most abi registered insurers are now not letting owners buy their salvage back but letting the likes of copart uplift and sell online, this way the insurers are looking for a return of 1/3 minimum back which is better than the accepted 10% to owner0 -
Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Think I have been worrying over nothing as I had a call tonight from the company dealing with this. Lets just say the offer they made was quite a surprise!
Think the fact the car was in really tidy condition and low mileage counted plus the fact there are not many SRI's about.
Sad to see it go as its been a top run about.0
