mortgage PPI

Though I am divorced the mortgage is still in joint names. I was paying this for 0ver three years then I cancelled it, as I did not see why I should pay this and if anything were to happen to me, my ex would benefit. If we were misold, will my ex be entitled to half of any compensation?

In a word Yes. it would also have to be complained about in joint names and the questionnaire signed in joint names and any redress would be paid in joint names. Any 8% interest paid would be taxable so that raises an issue also.

Not worth doing it then, he has already left me with k18 of charging orders on the house, so it seems I am in a lose lose situation then?:(

Mortgage PPI is also upheld less than loan and credit card PPI, a lot less, as it is often essential and better tailored to your circumstances at the time.
So you are up against it :(

Why do you feel it was 'mis-sold'?

, but we were told we had to have it to get the mortgage?

What evidence do you have to support that allegation that would aid a successful complaint?

i.e. if you say that and they say "no we didnt", then how would you counter that?

We had mortgage arranged by Country wide Estate agents. They got mortgage from Chelsea B.S, then insurance through another company. He said we had to have the insurance or the mortgage would not go through?
