My Debt Relief Order has ended a week ago and is now being chased by one listed on DR

My DRO ended on the 23.2.12. When I had a letter from Santander Credit Card with a most recent transaction statement, Net balance, of the same amount that was listed on my DRO, as from dated 23.2.12 . Does this mean that I am being chased for the debt. I did think that all debts listed I would be free of them. Please advice, as I am sick with worry.

You just need to remind them that the DRO has completed. They are allowed to keep you informed of the balance during the morotorium period but it seems they have failed to notice that yours has finished.

You could include a paragrah like:
You should have received a letter from the DRO Unit with the following information:-

    • confirmation that a DRO has been made
    • you have no remedy in respect of this debt during the DRO moratorium. The moratorium begins from the date the DRO was made, (section 251G of the Insolvency Act 1986)
    • at the end of the moratorium I will be discharged from liability to you (section 251I of the Insolvency Act 1986).

I enclose confirmation by way of (anything you have really). You may wish to get independent confirmation direct from the DRO Unit by emailing: DRO.Unit@insolvency.gov.uk.

Please amend your records accordingly and confirm that you will be taking no further action in respect of this account.

It's probably a good idea to print off your record from

    http://www.insolvencydirect.bis.gov.uk/eiir/

    before it disappears in May.
