Sorry Sloppy, it may have been a worthwhile subject to discuss but you started being an utter prat about half way through, were patronising in the extreme throughout, and ended up being pretty offensive.

Behave like that in a pub and you'd get chinned. Not helpful to anyone.
  • Just as an aside - were you going for some sort of record by being the last poster on every thread last night?

    Completely agree with these comments.

Sloppy saver is a rude and offensive poster. I hope he keeps it up and gets banned. Won't be long.
  • Sorry, got to agree with Tim. The Don't pay off your Mortgage thread was pretty good at the start but you seemed to lose interest towards the end. I appreciate that perhaps you thought no one was listening, but you probably should have finished on there when you said you were going to. Sorry, just entering into the debate. ;)

I disagree about the patronising comment from Tim though, I thought that most of it was tongue in cheek. The comment 'come and join me in the pensions stream, that's where the cool people hang out' made me laugh out loud (I work in a payroll department and our pensions people are far from cool!) :)

Perhaps you think I'm biased against you, because you corrected my pension advice in the link at the start of this stream, but actually I feel a lot of the advice you've posted in this thread and all of the advice I've come across in the Pay off your Debt thread has been sound. You seem to be a different person in the POYD board, is it just that you dislike people who don't have mortgages??

Just thought I'd put my 2p in.

The don't pay off your mortgage thread was interesting and it did make me think about other options which was the point. I certainly don't think someone should be thrown off for disagreeing with the majority of people on a certain board.

But resorting to personal insults when others don't accept that your way is best was the main problem people found with it.
  • Where has sloppy saver disappeared to? Oh thats right, he has been banned. Great news!
  • Cheers

I felt very sorry for you and after his final outpouring, on the other thread, I didn't say anything because the silence seem to say so much more.....but I don't want you to think I wasn't supportive :grouphug: Good Luck with becoming Mortgage Free :money: and enjoy your sloppy-free surfing...:T
  • He was a real weirdo, I thought. At first I thought he was just someone who enjoyed being rude, but that post on the other thread was just bizarre! - as you say, WishIwasrich, the silence that followed it seemed to say it all.

Sad to say, though, our Sloppy is one of life's attention-seekers - he'll be back under a new name soon.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • Your right - he will be back but this time I know to keep a wide berth. Hopefully, he'll keep away from MFB though.....:naughty:
  • :T I have actually been avoiding this forum thanks to the weirdo! I'm glad he's gone, although I am sure he will soon be back.
