I recently quit uni, becuase I couldn't handle the stress and pressure on me. Am I allowed to claim Job Seekers Allowance? I'm asking because maybe they will say because I quit I'm not allowed to get it?
Thanks,
Thanks,

If you are looking for a job then yes you can put in a claim. Sanctions are for those who leave paid employment.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

If you have received any loan or bursary payments that will cover you until the end of term, then you may not be able to apply until then.
You must also formally inform the university that you have quit so they can provide a letter to support your JSA application.0 -

If you left paid employment always tell the truth, they will check with any employer as to why you left anyway.

So they do not check then? I had to hand on my letter of resignation to prove to them I wasn't sacked or walked out and they wrote to my old co.and always away around that, (never tell them the truth..) they cant be trusted.

Well during the time, i did the same thing (fed up with the boss) left on my own will (waited 2 months...) and applied JSA told them been out of work for 6 months..... (no checks..) - they did ask what have i been doing during 6 months I just said looking for jobs and was away.
but nothing ever came back at me.
(i needed the money and don't want them to mess it up)
- it's not nice to lie.. but when it comes to the JC
(you have to think for number 1)

When dealing with the jokers at the Jobcentre my motto is always:
Always apply, and if denied - APPEAL!"
Works every time!0
