Leeds Building Society - sort code question

Hi there
Have sent this query to LBS but wonder if you guys can help in parrallel too please.
I've set up two fixed rate bonds with FirstSave. They will both be funded with money from Leeds Building Society. When I've entered the LBS sort code on the online application form it comes back with a HSBC branch in Leeds.
FS have suggested that this may well be fine and is due to the fact that some institutions require clearing banks to transfer funds rather than this Building Society.
Sound correct?

The account details you use for paying into a building society will generally point to the society's collection account at the bank. These details are no use for taking money out.
If FirstSave want to take the money by Direct Debit, you'll need to have the funds in an account that supports Direct Debits."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
I have sort code 40-27-15 a/c 12440040 (8 digits) and, of course, my own 'roll/reference' which has 10 digits.
Remember to include your own roll number as a reference too......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

Cheers for the response - Firstsave initially responded saying it shouldnt be an issue - but I have responded saying, in short 'are you sure?'.0 -

You're spot on - having to move the funds across.
