The OP is looking for an office junior not wants to be one

Opps. Now I look like a tool for not reading the thread properly. Better not claim I pay close attention to detail. :D

Oh crap. Now that you've quoted me I can't even delete my embarrassment. -___-

What is this Office Junior role for anyway? £18k pa seems a lot just for making coffee, greeting people, typing a bit, and maybe taking a few telephone calls.

If it was just tea making and answering the phone I'd apply but alas too expensive to get to Tilbury.
  • Job covers a variety of work. Answering phones learning the ropes of import/export of commodities, helping accounts faxing and filing so it's a variety but singly helping on person who needs the up port - but when it's quite which it s never- o ern more. It's a ompany with secure future. No ones ever left been made redundant. It's a good place to be. We were surprised of te money offering thinking it old be iny £13k but MD thinks different. Oh yeah and must make tea! Lol:rotfl:
I'll worry about tomorrow when it happens

We've been trying at work to find an office junior. We've contacted friends and family but everyone's working. I personally don't know anyone looking for work. Last time we tried the job centre, the cvs where good but when you rang them to offer an interview people either didn't bother turning up or they did turn up but only going through the motions. I'm not dissing anyone from the job centre but where's a good place to start without paying an agency fee? Thanks

What about rewording the job title? People may think office junior title a little beneath them but maybe general office worker could create some genuine interest. Just a suggestion and could be worth a go.

Agreed - Office Assistant or Admin Assistant something sounds more like that role than Office Junior does. Office Junior sounds like you need someone just to make the tea... and that you won't look at people over 18-20.

you can place a free ad on gumtree. Also try the local papers, not sure how much they charge but they are often delivered door to door so have a wider audience

Same! But it takes an age to get to Tilbury from Chelmsford.

This was my thought. If you are wanting a school leaver then fine but if you are also wanting to attract the mature person who needs a job, then getting rid of 'junior' in the title would help.
