Help/advice please

Can't decide whether to buy an ipad (or other brand tablet), macbook pro or air or new phone. Want to be able to access net when overseas but don't want to be tied into a phone contract. (Also as a member of the "life begins" brigade, eyesight is a bit dodgy on small screens)!

Have thought about macbook air and a mobile 3g wi-fi router (where I can buy a sim card as and when), but obviously not as portable as a tablet although benefits in OS and memory etc. Budget is c£1200.

Totally stuck!! Any info gratefully appreciated.

Stick to a tablet or a ultraportable laptop. Best bet is a new iPad 2 as they'll cheap with the impending iPad 3

Being an iPod owner I would suggest you get the 3 g version iPad This gives you better roaming facilities. As far as your eyesight Being a bit dodgy, well on the iPad it is so easy to make the text/graphics larger.
I might add that I am only an iPad 2 owner because it was a present from my daughter, having used it now for 3 months I would add that you are locked into the Apple system, there is no USB port which is a big disadvantage.
