Hi
Wonder if anybody can help me out. I have applied to study a HNC by distance learning. just wondering if anybody knows how I can fund this, ie. any student loan/grant etc etc - I have searched the college website, and haven't had much joy, I am going to call them tomorrow, but thought I'd try here too.
Thanks

Depending on your household income you may be eligible to get an ILA - I'm sure it's £200 or £500 you can apply for depending on income. I suspect that will be your only means of funding your course as normally people do distance learning combined with working.0 -
Hello
Thanks for your reply. I've been having a look at the ILA online just now, I'm not actually sure how much the college charge, so will need to investigate a bit further!0 -
the college may allow you to pay by installments, so that might help you and they be able to point you in the direction of discretionary trusts to whom you could apply for help with funding. I know my own college has things like a £1000 grant you can apply to if you are doing a catering course funded by a local company - you're not guaranteed to get it but if you don't apply then you will never know. Good luck.0

Have been in touch with SAAS, they are, em...helpful! The only option available is something called a part time grant, which has replaced the £500 ILA award. Not many options if you want to study part time or distance learning, which is a bit disappointing, as no way at all i can afford to not work full time. Oh well! Thanks for your help :-)0
