Anyone able to check Glass' for me?

My father is currently negotiating with his insurance re an offer they had made for his car recently written off as a result of someone going through a red light.

They state the offer has been based on the value given by Glass'. I would like to verify this - anyone willing? It would be most appreciated. PM if you prefer. I appreciate some may see it as a little cheeky, so apologise if it offends.

Also, any other advice would be appreciated. The value offered by the insurance company is around one third of the cost of buying like for like. (Very old Audi diesel, only 130k though.)

Thank you. Response appreciated. Unfortunately they only carry cars from the last 9 years. If I'm looking for a car from 1994 will the normal Glass' guide have this, or should I be looking for older copies, or....?

If he was not at fault it is upto the other party to put you back in the position you were in prior to the accident.

Tell them to find a suitable replacement or pay you the money try and find examples to help your case.

glass,s only have values going back to 1999 your best bet for a value for your dads car is to do a search on autotrader for the same model ,find five vehicles the same age then take the average price

You won't have a 'Trade Guide' listing, at that age, nor will you find many comprable examples, I'd think.

As mentioned above, see how many similar models are currently being advertised, save the details & talk again to the insurers.

Also if you are insured through a broker, rather than a direct company, let them do some work for you - they'll have earned their commisssion from your policy & represent you to the company!!
