Hi

Tax disc due at the end of this month, and I've not had the reminder yet... I want that so I can apply online.

Anybody got any idea when it might come as things get complex and if I can't have the disc in my hand by 21st March then things get too complex as mail will be redirected across the whole country.... so trying to work out what to do for the best to ensure I definitely have the disc in my hand by then.

Cheers.

You can do it on-line now, with the details from the V5C, it should arrive within 5 days.

    Hi

Mine arrived today for 31st March. Did you mean you need to have it by 31st not 21st?

Ah, that's handy.... I'll be going to where my car is registered tomorrow, so will be keen to get over there and see if mine's arrived then.

Trouble is, my car is registered at an address where I am not living and I'm selling that house (complete in the next 2-3 weeks) and won't have an address, so mail is to then be forwarded to a sibling's house. Which doesn't make banking/motoring and stuff easy :)

They can arrive at pretty much any time during the month. They actually print them out six weeks in advance and send them out in batches as there's too many to send out in a single day.

But as everyone else has said, you can use the document reference number from your v5c (logbook) to tax the car online even if you don't have the reminder.

    It's your registration document.

You can tax it online with the V5C reference number from the 5th of the month. No need to even wait for the reminder.
