ombudsman reply

Hello,
i've just received a reply from the ombudsman,regarding a vehicle PPI that was applied unknown to me back in 2002, he says"we are unable to investigate your complaint about (the company)This is because the event you have complained about (the sale of your payment protection insurance policy) took place on a date before the sale of insurance policies by this firm became covered by our jurisdiction. ??? i'm confused, anyone help? or advise???

    To get access to the FOS you have to have bought from a firm that was FSA regulated or one that was regulated by an earlier body. Where that is not the case you cannot access to the FOS.

    When you got the response from the firm, they would have told you this and would have mentioned any alternative body that may exist. So, what did the firm response say?

    i'm still waiting for a reply from the insurance company/underwriter, the car dealer says its not there fault, ?
