Buildings & Contents Bragging!

Don't normally do this sort of bragging post - but after finding this site, I've got into the whole money-saving thing, and just re-sourced my Home Building & Contents Insurance.
Was just below £500 with Zurich.
Tried all the comparison sites, used a broker, both confirming that I can get a perfectly sufficient policy (my current one being a bit over the top apparently, thanks to my mortgage provider who got it for me in the first place) for around £280! The new policy - get this - with Zurich!
Quick trip to Zurichs website via Quidco (for £120 cashback!) and I've now replaced my insurance without moving company, and saved £340. That's a couple of hours well spent.
Thanks to everyone (especially Martin of course) for this Site - I'm extremely chuffed.
And I've just realised that in my excitement, I've posted this to the wrong board. Sorry, should have been in how much have you saved. Can a Mod relocate me please....?

If you'd gone for separate contents and buildings policies but both with Zurich, you may have lost a little bit of a reduction for having a joint policy.....but I'm sure that would have been more than compensated for by the paying of ANOTHER £120 cashback, making your total saving close to £500! Great saving all the same.0 -
Hmmmm, thats a good point, never thought of that one. As I was only paying £500 - I would have saved nigh on £500 - and got both insurances for virtually free. Feels like a loophole they would have to close if people starting doing that...?
But then, I'm new to the whole quidco thing, so I wont really beleive I have Any cashback until it actually processes.
I am of course hoping to be able to get such cashbacks each year of course.
Once the insurance has processed - I wonder what would happen if I were to cancel it and take out another one? Would my first cashback suddenly become takenback.

No of course it wouldn't be taken back. Insurance Companies have now become charities don't you know? Forget about next year - it will apply to new buisness onlyJakaru wrote:Hmmmm, thats a good point, never thought of that one.
