Is this the right way to claim?

Hello,
We've just phoned Lloyds to try and see if anything was set in motion with regards to claiming back PPI. Lloyds have taken our details and are investigating it. They said it can take upto 8 weeks to investigate, is this ok? Will they investigate it properly? Should we have sent in paperwork? They just made it seem like we don't need to do anything about it, they will see if we are entitled to any reclaims. Also, how do they work out how much you are entitled to?
Thanks,
:j

yesWill they investigate it properly?
No reason why you shouldnt and considering that they dont even bother checking many of the complaints but auto payout on a proportion you are probably better off if they dont check it properly.Should we have sent in paperwork?
would it make any difference to what you said on the phone? They just made it seem like we don't need to do anything about it, they will see if we are entitled to any reclaims.
You dont. If they need more, they will ask you. Also, how do they work out how much you are entitled to?

I have also filed my complaint by phone today with RBS,
I was a little worried they wouldnt have the information as the original loan was from 2003 (consolidated in 2005 and ended in 2010).
The guy on the phone seemed happy he had all the info, which is a good start, he said i should get my confirmation of the compliant within 2 weeks and desicion within 8 weeks... we'll see!
Like you i was a little worried about the small amount of info he needed, and if it would actually go through the system, but feel a bit better now ive read this:)
All we can do is wait! and keep our fingers and toes crossed!0
