Hi All.. I am new here and I would like your help.
I can't connect my friend's computer to the wireless network. (Mine is connected just fine.) When I try to repair it, it says "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Connecting to the wireless network". When I click to view available networks, the network I want to connect to appears. After click connect and input the network key, it says waiting for the network...after a while the connecting window disappears and the computer is still not connected to the network.
Kindly help. Many thanks in advance and nice to meet you all.

Has he defined the network details rather than letting the computer find them?
His own network may have a different network range so if he's using yours it won't connect.0 -

No. We actually let the computer find the networks and it actually finds them but somehow it can't connect.
Anything else I should try or look into...please advise.

So sorry about that. She uses Windows (XP SP3) to connect to the wireless network. (Network Connections -> Wireless Network Connection -> Right click to View Available Wireless Networks and connect it from there)0 -

What is your router emitting? Perhaps the laptop is not 'g' or 'n' capable and your router is emitting a 'g' signal.0 -

The router is emitting 802.11g and is backward compatible with existing 802.11b and 802.11g wireless equipment. Also, her laptop is equipped with 802.11g Wireless LAN. Any ideas what else could have gone wrong? Many thanks0 -

Hi
Test with a cable if possible.
Check that wireless network setting on pc is set to obtain an ip automatically
Make sure that the Windows Zero Configuration Service is running
Good luck0
