Hello everyone
This could be a stupid question, but I am writing to 2 banks for terms and conditions of credit cards I got with them .the hints page says send a cheque for £1 to speed things up a bit but who would i make the cheques payable to please. The banks concerned are MBNA and Barclaycard,if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance Ben

Would I make them payable to the respective banks0

The £1 method only applies to cards still open. Not for those that are closed.
Why do you need the agreements? You know if you have PPI or not by seeing it on your statement each month. If you do have it then you must also know what your reason for complaint is (as having PPI is not a complaint reason).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks for the reply. Both credit cards are open and were opened about 10 years ago.The ppi was stopped about 5 years ago when I realised i had it but didnt want it.So unfortunatly i dont have statements going that far back.Has anyone sent a cheque to either of these banks for terms and conditions and who did you make the cheque out to.Thanks again in advance0

If your card/account is no longer active, is requesting a SAR and the £10 fee the best option for finding out if you paid PPI?

Look here for reasons for mis sell
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance#step2
If any/all apply to you then put a claim in, did you have a good sick pay package with your employer and so be able to afford the monthly payments if you were ill, did you have life insurance to pay the card off if you died, were you unemployed when you took the card or a student that did not work, these are reasons for mis sell, also put why you cancelled the ppi and that you did not claim mis sell as it has only come to your attention through the media that you may have been mis sold this product.
You only need the card number and reasons for mis sell.
Put a Sar in while you are waiting, this may throw up the info you need, you do not need the terms and conditions to make a claim.

Enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.

If you know you had PPI then you dont need the agreement to find out if you had it. That is all people are doing when they ask for the agreement. They are fishing as they cant remember.
You now need to put your complaint in. Dont waste money on something you dont need.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
