Vauxhall Corsa - leaking water
I have a 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa 2002. When it rains im getting some water on the inside left wheel arch. Basically after rain the inside wheelarch carpet is dry but when i set off and turn a corner there is signs of water thats obviously being held somewhere until the movement of the can and displaced on the wheel arch.
Not sure at all where is coming from so hoping for some ideas. Is there a common fault somewhere? or where is the water coming in from??

Common problem on the Corsa C is the fuse box which is on the near side under the bonnet but leaks into the passenger side floor under the carpet into the sound deadening.
They also leak on the seal between the bulkhead and the master cylinder but as you said the water is on the passenger side it probably points to the fusebox.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think you should know my Dads story. Dad had a lovely 1.2 02 Corsa which ran like a dream. He started noticing water in the drivers footwell after the car had been standing out in the rain. He ended up taking it to three different garages over a period of two years, all of the garages had experienced the problem before and knew how to solve it. At different times he was told in was coming in the boot, the windscreen and various seals. He had a new windscreen put in, just about every seal possible replaced and spent goodness knows how much money on it.
Dad found that if he was out driving in the rain it was fine. If it was left standing in the rain it leaked. He even ended up resorting to covering the car with a plastic sheet when it was parked for any length of time. Eventually enough was enough and he sold it to a dealer and very honestly admitted the problem. They werent surprised and said they had seen many Corsas with the same issue.
The thing is with water leaks is that where the water collects may bear no relation to where the water is actually coming in. I can remember my husband spraying the car with a hosepipe while Dad crawled about inside trying to work out where the water was coming in but it was impossible.
I hope you are lucky enough to sort it. Dad really didnt want to sell the car and kept believing that there had to be an answer and I know how frustrated he got with it.0 -

This is a very common problem with most garages the labour time looking for a leak can be unreal as it can take quite a while before it even comes in and the you have to find out where its coming from.
I have fitted windscreens for a great many years and these days 90% of the time its not the windscreen.

We had a similar problem with a car we'd sold and we eventually took it to a body shop and they stripped out the seats centre console and carpet and then hosed the underside until they found the problem. Best £120 i ever spent! :cool:0 -

I have been a victim of soaked drivers footwell on an 05 plate SXi too .:(
Thanks to searching threads on this issue, and some help, stripped out the seat, trims and carpet yesterday, after trying to dry out through the carpet flap the week before for hours with a hairdryer lol....... and I could not believe how much water was still there!!
Got 2+ litres out by sponging up and spent hours with a hot gun 'carefully' drying all the foam and underfelt. It was not that easy to find but there was a gap at bottom of seal below the brake servo unit. Have sealed as best as could, and put carpet/seat back.
Praying this has solved the problem, but have just read somewhere else it doesn't always work and that other victims have used either tigerseal/underseal/bitumous paint over sealing, which has done the trick, so think I will go get some as I can't face all that drying out again !!
Hope others may be helped by this post0 -
Also check your coolant level could be the heater matrix.0
