 - no need to be nervous about this, as, after all the same details (+ a copy of your signature) are on every cheque you may have sent in the past. No fees + no hassles of paying in / clearing cheques.
Have you found this works for you?

I use paypal if its a large amount over £80 and then anything less I accept postal orders. If you accept POs or cheques, dont send the item until it clears in your account, wait 1 working day after it has cleared.0

            New Question.
What do you write on the bottom of your description to explain you accepted methods of payment?
How simple do you keep it?£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4 .............................NCFC member No: 00005......... .............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Rikki people have to wait, what happens if you receive a cheque and send the item and the cheque does not clear...
I only started selling in December when I decided to have a major clear out.
Rikki go through all items that are similar to yours and just look at the way people write their terms & conditions by the time you have read 10 different ads, you will have a few idea of how you want to present yours.
Then just state that if they need further information or clarity they should email you before bidding...
But really you need to go though as many ads as possible just to see how people persent themselves as there is no one format, different strokes for different folks...0

Just to add to this beware of silly buyers using "e-cheques" through Paypal as it takes ages. I had never even heard of them until this happened to me.
Apparently buyer ticked the wrong box when paying by Paypal, the payment then took 2 weeks to clear
Particularly concerning as I was selling a large piece of furniture which had to go before I moved house...
Nothing like running you right up to the last minute!
Th ebuyer has no control over whether a payment goes through as a straight payment or as an echeque, it seems completely random. We've had threads on here where someone has bought a batch of items on the same ebay account nd frm the same paypal account and yet 1 random payment will end up as an echeque.
As for paypal generally you will find most buyers prefer it and some , like me, have my default setting to only see auctions where paypal is accepted. Therefore if the 'I accept paypal' box is not ticked, i wouldn't even see your auction.
However, as has already been stated you can only tick the I accept paypal box if you have a premier account and can accept all forms of payment. If you try and manage with a basic account only, and contains mild peril seems to manage well enough :T then you MUST NOT tick the 'I accept paypal' box but instead just mention in the body of your auction that you will accept paypal but only from an existing balance. You would then need to adjust your invoice manually when you send it.
Personally I don't have time for all that, nor do I have time to go to the bank and pay in cheques and wait for clearance, so all my auctions are paypal enabled and virtually all my buyers use paypal. My time is more valuable than the money I pay to paypal for fees.

Apologies for odd spelling but I have a dodgy keyboard and some keys stick and some end up taking so long to type that they end up in the wrong order. I think MSE is broken at the moment as I can't edit my posts for spelling as I usually do !I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
