PPI - Nationwide - Finding out terms and policy

My Dad had a large mortgage with Nationwide about 10 years ago and cannot remember any details about it or have any paperwork. Is there a default letter/layout to send them to get them to send a copy of the policy and what they gave him etc.

Is there anything I need to be aware of. I could not find any mention of PPI Refunds/Claims on the Nationwide site. Who you I write to?

Cheers :)

Enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.
Do not use a claims co as you do all the work and they sit back and take a huge % of any redress.

With this being MPPI, wait until you get the info back and post the question here about reclaiming the ppi, the people on there will tell you from the paperwork if this is reclaimable.

Why does your dad think he was mis-sold?

Remember that any PPI complaint is not about having PPI. It is about how it was sold or set up. We know that Nationwide set up MPPI correctly. So, that elimates the sort of complaint that can work with loans. We also know that MPPI is considered far more important than other types of PPI and because of these things, it has a very small complaints rate and an even lower uphold rate. Some claims companies wont even take on MPPI complaints given the lower levels of success seen with complaints (especially where a mortgage adviser/financial adviser was involved)

There is a very good chance that a SAR will not show anything about the MPPI as MPPI is a standalone product that is paid by direct debit from the current account. It is not factored into the debt (another reason why MPPI has less complaints as that is how it should be).

If your dad knows he had MPPI and has a reason for complaint on it then he doesnt need to get information. He can complain stating his reasons and provide his evidence to support his allegations.
