Travel Insurance with Pre existing medical conditions

Hi,

My partner and I have pre-existing medical conditions, almost all of which (Crohn's and short bowel syndrome for me, Colitis for her) are NOT covered by answering "yes" to the standard health declaration 4 questions, then the 6 questions following that, (http://www.postoffice.co.uk/sites/default/files/Travel_Policy_Text_Doc.pdf)
is an example, though most of them seem the same.

However, as she suffers from anxiety, she has to answer yes to question 6. We are quite happy to have anxiety not covered as it's extremely unlikely that will affect anything for her, but want Crohn's and Colitis covered.

Normally, you wouldn't have to discolse them as neither condition means we have to answer yes, but once we truthfully answer yes to Q6, you get the option to add other conditions, and when you add those, the quote becomes 3-4 times more expensive, despite the fact that if it weren't for the anxiety, they wouldn't want to know about any of our conditions.

So, would we still be covered (for any incidents involving Crohn's or Colitis) if we only list anxiety and as none of the web forms specifically ask for all other conditions, just the ones that led you to say yes?

    Hi

I would ring them up to be honest. I have had a similar issue, where I didnt really understand the question, and typically fell ill abroad. Surprise surprise the claim was rejected!

A lesson learned, anything serious like insurance to cover conditions, just ring them. Got mine with Bupa in the end.

Thanks very much for that, I've just given them a try and whilst it's costing more than an extra tenner, it's by far and away the cheapest. Thank you!
