Really wanted a free nest box but seems you have to buy them and there jsut free instructions
Ah well my mum does a business involving wood and trees from sustainable sources so ill get her to bring some wood home and ill get making one (wow does that make me sound young!)0 -
I think if you attend one of their events then you can get a free nest box, but if you have missed out then it tells you how to make one0

no, it makes u sound creative and artistic :T0 -
Like lil birdies me, watchign them bringing worms and twigs back setting up a lil home...
already started planning it now, nail it to my shed side (so no cats can get them!) and im going to make it slightly longer to give them lots of space... put some straw in the bottom to help them nest and attach one of those bird feeder things on the tree opposite (then no birds will keep coming near them and the adult birds can fly out and get them when it needs some)
Been looking for a project like this :T0 -
that is fantastic, sound like creating a lovely home for the lil birdies, already well thought through, great job well done.
love birds, used to feed them, particular the big black ones, they are so comical, so noisy when u feed them, and they walk like human, i even named an old one lovingly, they r not fussy for food. really missed them after moved house, now we don't have big black birds coming to our garden, only small sparrows and some brown spotty ones, they r very fussy with food, so only feed them with hanging seeds thing.
i want the big black birds back, how can i attract them to feed in my garden?0 -
Put them on your christmas card list next year? :rotfl:
Not sure sorry... :T0 -
i already did last xmas :rotfl:
i even tried different type of bread, and they are not interested, maybe too many people feeding them already. :rolleyes:0 -
You forget the ringleaders birthday? :rotfl:
Just keep a sharp eye for one or two of them and feed them. Or go nearby fields, try feeding them there... they might re nest and come closer to your home, or maybe even see your home and eventually move there?0 -
thanks, anything with chocolate is worth a look!0
