car issues - what to do

so i bought a scond hand car mid jan this yr - it has a 3 month warranty

the car passed its mot in december 2011 so seemed gd

- teh first issue was a alternator belt that came off - the car stopped as i was on my way to teh library mechanic re did teh battery -

then it stopped on brixton high rd - the guy i bought it off replaced teh alternator and a pulley - didnt seem too happy about it

---- now it didnt start on saturday luckily it was outside my bros house so i left it a few hours then it started

today i wanted to get some food but it didnt start - it is raining

now im thinking this may be normal cars are complex i see new cars stopping on rds -- but i drive to the city bank etc for meetings n get togethers every weekend and it would totally bad news if that happened at 4 am --

what do you think i shoudl do ?

when i said to the mechanic i bought it off i could hear a sound and it stalled he said thats normal - he isnt that helpfulll at all - if i took it round thier when it is working he'd say it works fine now --

his english is sh88t hes italian seems like a decent person but not that willing to help

what should i say to him ? really someone should look at it i think

When the alternator stopped, the battery would have drained very quickly, if the battery wasn't recharged or the car wasn't driven enough for the alternator to recharge it, then the battery could be near dead.

Your description is not very clear, sorry....

Your not telling us what was happening when you tried to start it? has it started since?

Let's face it yours isn't great either. That aside, car shouldn't break down, it does happen but shouldn't be considered as normal. Now when you say they re-did tHE battery what do you mean? Did they replace with a new one? Was the alternator new, as opposed to a second/re-con unit, did the car start after they fitted the new alternator, did you start it when you picked it up? If both of these have genuinely been replaced then there maybe a short circuit, well maybe not a total short but a drain of some type. Tell me more about this 'noise' before it stalled. What car is it?

its not the alternator that was a few weeks ago uts recharged since then --

yes it isnt starting thats it

maybe if you learn how to read you wouldnt need to try and insult people - cos you cant work things out [ and realise im in a rush and dont have time to use perfect grammer ] and communicate like a reasonable human being -:money:

the battry wasnt replaced as the man said it was charging fine

the car was ok after teh alternator was redone and fully charged

its a clio


it doesnt start thats
it sounds like theres is batttery but something isnt starting

anyway i should just call this mechanic and get him to look it over when it does work - thats what i should do -

Please take this as advise and not as an insult.

When asking for help on a forum, it is best to use good grammar and good spelling to make the post easier to read.

With poor grammar and spelling many people will be put off reading the full post and therefore will not bother to post a reply.

Think of it this way, if you can't be bothered to put a little effort into making your post presentable and easy to read, why should anyone bother to respond.
